Update

Hey guys -

I've got some good news and bad news: good news first, I've been accepted into a study abroad program for next spring! The bad news is that I will no longer be competing for the title of Mrs. Flav, ultimately I have to choose my education on this one. I'm still "participant", and if you wanna drop me some votes that's a-ok, I'll still be casting plenty myself. But that's not the end!

The competition is heating up, and several of you girls have really impressed me, so I'm going to create a top 5. I will be adding FIVE names to the list every week, so by the end of the competition there will be a 20 person list. If you're not on the list, and you want to be, tell me why -- I'm going to consider everyone, but these are the girls who stand out and DESERVE your votes.

It's tempting to make a "caution" list, but these girls know who they are: instead, here's my criteria.

1. if someone has something other than their face as a default photo. Flav wants to date a woman, not an a**! It's one thing to have something tasteful up that shows off your best features, but fuzzy webcam tightey whitey a**es aren't it.

2. If you're tagged as a "gold digger". That's the LAST thing Flav needs.

3. No photos = no vote.

4. No about me = no vote.

5. I won't say that I won't vote for you if you don't post a blog, but they will really, really help your cause. If you can't take fifteen minutes to tell us why we should vote for you, well, why should we?

6. If you're leaving hatricide on other girls pages just because they're winning. Keep it in check and be a good sport.

7. Obviously, if you've got photos that are not of you, you'll lose my vote and be flagged. There's no point.

And here are a few tips to earn my vote:

1. Make a video. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, but the more creative you are, the more you'll stand out against the competition.

2. Don't be afraid to talk! Put yourself out there -- talk to people, tell us why you deserve the vote, get on the radio shows and let us know whats up.

3. Stay up to date, cast your other votes, and it's important to return comments. And not just "i voted for you vote for me" -- at least phrase it nicely. At best, actually read the person's profile and respond based on that.
